How to Mentally and Physically Heal From a C-Section

We've got another great episode for you today featuring Labor Nurse Mama, Trish Ware! From a young girl, Trish knew she had a calling to become a labor and delivery nurse. You can tell from the passion behind her voice that she loves what she does. She has now been practicing for 16 years!

In today’s episode, Trish goes into the importance of educating yourself before having a C-Section. A lot of women go into it blindly, with no set expectation. She noticed at the start of her career how much people pushed C-Sections onto women over convenience, when it really should be a last resort option. Make sure to ask all the right questions, and stand your ground if you feel that a C-Section isn’t necessary for you!

Trish also goes into how to mentally and physically prepare yourself for a C-Section. What a lot of people don’t realize is that it is a major abdominal surgery, and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. Mentally, don’t set unrealistic expectations. Ask for help when needed. Take extra time to heal. You just had a major surgery, and are now immediately expected to take care of a newborn child. Don’t be so hard on yourself! Physically, she gives some great tips on taking care of your body, how to keep moving around, and eating healing foods. Take care of yourself! You got this, mama.
