No-Bake Lactation Boosting Snack Bites

Believe us when we say that we know that moms are busy! Busy taking care of others and most of the time forgetting to take care of herself. If you have chosen to breastfeed your little one, it's extremely important to make sure to get the right nutrients. These snack bites are great for any mama who needs a healthy snack to boost her milk supply and energy level! They’re super easy (no baking is necessary!) and jam packed with ingredients to give your body a boost. Oatmeal and peanut butter are both great ways to sneak a little extra protein in and are full of antioxidants. Flaxseed is full of those good fats that are heart-healthy.  Dark chocolate has been shown to boost heart and brain health... baby brain is a real thing! No excuses necessary to sneak in an extra piece every now and then!  And most importantly, oats and brewer’s yeast has been known for increasing the milk supply of nursing mothers.

Total Time: 40 minutes (10 minutes prep)

Ingredients

* 2 cups rolled oats

*1/2 cup ground flaxseed

*3 TBS brewers yeast

*1 cup of peanut butter (or almond butter)

* 1/3 cup honey

*1 tsp vanilla

*1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (or mini M&M's)

Instructions

1.) In the bowl of an electric mixer, mix together all of the dry ingredients. Then (paddle attachment works best), add all remaining ingredients. Be prepared for things to get sticky! Mix on low speed until mixture is well combined.

2.) Roll mixture into bite-sized portions and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or enjoy right away. Once the bites have set, transfer them to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
